Answers to Your Most Frequently Asked QuestionsQ. Are there minimum quantities I have to order?A. We have a minimum of 6 dishes per order and no maximums per order. If you wish to just have a taster please call us and we can process a single dish order on your behalf. (Limit one per customer). There are half portion meals serving 2-3 people or full portion meals serving 4-6 people. Q. How do I take advantage of your Referral Program ?A. We offer a referral program to customers whereby each new customer referral earns them $20 towards a purchase. Your E-mail address will become your referral code that can be entered on the final checkout page when your friends make a purchase. Just think 10 referrals takes care of $200 of your grocery bill. Please make sure that tose referring you enter your code as we are unable to do it retroactively. Q. How large are the meals?A. We have two options. You can purchase a half portion to serve 2-3 people or a full portion to serve 4-6 people. Full portions can still be split and there is no charge for splitting meals. Q. How long does it take to prepare meals?A. We've done all the chopping, slicing, grating, and other time consuming steps. Within minutes, you simply assemble each of your dishes according to your family's taste. For example it takes about 2 hours to prepare 12 full meals Q. I don't consider myself a cook. Can I do this?A. Sure you can! In addition to doing all the preparation, we provide simple step-by-step instructions. If you can scoop and stir, you can do this. If you're still not convinced, we're happy to demonstrate techniques and answer any questions you may have. Just look for one of our staff in the chef coats. Q. Do I have to bring anything to a session?A. You'll need to bring a cooler, or a laundry basket or an insulated bag to carry home your dinners. We provide all the meal storage containers you'll need. Q.We are picky eaters or have specific dietary needs. Can you accomodate?A. Absolutely! One of the beauties of Sensational Suppers is that everything can be customized. Start with our Family-Tested, Family-Approved recipes and make them your own. If you want, add a little more of this or less of that. We have created recipes that are mildly spicy and we will let you know if something varies from our standard spice level. And remember, our staff is always available to assist and give suggestions.We can also accomodate many food sensitivities, allergies and dietary restrictions. PLEASE CALL IN ADVANCE AND LET US KNOW YOUR NEEDS Q. Six servings is a lot for my small family. Can I split each dish?A. For most, yes. We will provide additional bags and foil as needed . But for best results, we don't recommend splitting casserole-type dishes or crock pot items. Q. How can I possibly fit all this food in my freezer?A. It's not hard. Before you come to Sensational Suppers, take a few minutes to clean out your freezer - you're never going to use that mystery meat anyway. Your dinners will be stored in freezer friendly containers like Ziploc bags and foil packets, and youi'll be surprised how much you can fit on one shelf in your freezer. Also, place several dinners in the refrigerator right away to use that week. Q. Will I save or spend more on food using Sensational Suppers?A. You'll save! Customers tell us they spend less money using Sensational Suppers. They make fewer trips to the grocery store, fewer impulse purchases, and fewer stops for fast food. They also experience less food spoilage, not to mention the waste of buying a jar of this or a can of that just to add one tablespoon of an ingredient to a recipe. So, in addition to saving time, you will save money! Q. Can I bring my kids or someone to help?A.Friends and family are welcome but please keep in mind the childcare needs of your child. It is difficult to keep an eye on toddlers, babies seem to love to nap at SS and older kids love to get their hands in there to help. Due to space constraints we are only able to accomodate two people per booking. Q. What if I need to reschedule a session?A. Life happens; we understand. Food and the flu don't mix, so if you're not feeling well, we encourage you to call and reschedule. Q. How do you practice food safety at Sensational Suppers workshops?A. With great care! All of our workers have been trained in food safety; we follow our Health Department's recommendations and practice all FoodSafe commitments. Each station is used for only one food type and all items are thoroughly sanitized after each cooking session. Hand washing is required before the session, after coughing or sneezing, after using the restroom, and between stations. All safety issues will be reviewed with you at the beginning of each session. Your safety and the safety of your families is VERY important to us! Q. How much does this cost?Sensational Suppers is not only fun but very cost effective. Generally our meals are the same pricing as if you had store bought the ingredients. Each meal is individually priced with the average being $28 for a full size meal and $17 for a half size meal. Thus, meals are typically $4- $5 per serving |
